October is Domestic Violence awareness month and here I find myself posting this project, a year after I completed it. The concept for the project was to create social awareness about DV. I wanted to get people involved and have them pledge to not keep silent and blot out the shame individuals face when having been a victim of DV. So I created two very large posters, bought purple paint (color that represents DV month) and encouraged people to use their handprints to help blot out the images on the poster! I screen printed my handprint on some towels along with a pledge against DV.
